Early Voting is a new process that will be available for the first time in 2026.  This is similar to voting in a polling place on Election Day, as it has a quick check-in process where you can cast your ballot for that election directly into the ballot counter.  This process still occurs before Election Day, starting 18 days before the election (July 24th); for all statewide elections, every county will have at least one location where early voting is offered.  Houston County’s Early Voting will take place in the Auditor’s Office, Room 116 at the Houston County Courthouse, 304 S. Marshall Street, Caledonia MN during regular business hours.  Dates and times of extended hours can be found on the County website.

The Early Voting process:
  • Verify your name, date of birth, and address
  • A ballot is issued
  • Proceed to the voting booth to complete your ballot
  • Cast the ballot directly into the ballot counter
  • Your ballot is accepted for the election at this visit; you cannot vote at your polling place on Election Day as your one ballot for that election has been cast.
