Services and Responsibilities

Social Services is divided into two units: Adult and Children

Adult Unit
The Adult Unit is responsible for providing services and case management to people in the following program categories:
    • Adult Protection, Assessments, and Case Management Services
    • Court Ordered Guardianship and Conservatorships
    • Adult Mental Health Services
    • Civil Commitment Pre-Petition Screenings, Petitions, and Monitoring
    • Adult Foster Care Licensing
    • Community Residential Setting Licensing

Child Unit
The Child/Family Unit is responsible for providing services and case management to persons and families in the following program categories:
    • Child Protection Investigations and On-Going Protection Services
    • Family Assessment Response and On-Going Services
    • Family Group Decision Making Services/Prevention and Reunification
    • Parenting Support Outreach Assessment and Services
    • Child/Family Welfare Services
    • Children In Need of Protection or Services (CHIPS) Court Proceedings
    • Out-of-Home Placements of Children
    • Children’s Mental Health Services
    • Minor Parents
    • Adoptions
    • Parent Training and Education Programs
    • Community Education and Prevention
    • Information & Referral
    • Family Child Care Licensing
    • Child Foster Care Licensing
