The Zoning & Planning Department oversees several programs including planning and zoning, feedlot monitoring, noxious weed control, the Wetland Conservation Act, and septic regulation.

The Zoning & Planning Department enforces, maintains, and oversees updated to the Comprehensive Land Use Plan and the Zoning Ordinance. The department issues zoning permits, septic permits, and certificates of compliance acknowledging that property improvements satisfy all applicable zoning standards. The department also prepares all Conditional Use, Interim Use, Zoning Amendments, and Variance petitions heard by the Board of Adjustment and Planning Commission.
